Hi, I’m Melissa — a multidimensional creative with a deep focus on photography.
I founded Joyous Mountain Workshop in 2013 in Melbourne, Australia, and since then the journey has taken me across continents — running my practice from Melbourne, Albuquerque (New Mexico), and Brooklyn (New York). I’m now based back home in South Australia, on Kaurna land.
For over two decades, I’ve been immersed in the visual and audio arts, including more than ten years in post-production film, specialising in colour science and grading. Alongside my visual practice, I create and perform music as sanso-xtro.
As an analogue film photographer and explorer of nature, my work is grounded in curiosity, connection, and a love for wild places. My photography focuses on nature and product imagery, particularly within the outdoor industry — capturing the beauty, design, and spirit of adventure.
