Hi, I’m Melissa — a multidimensional creative with a deep focus on photography.

I founded Joyous Mountain Workshop in 2013 in Melbourne, Australia, and since then the journey has taken me across continents — running my practice from Melbourne, Albuquerque (New Mexico), and Brooklyn (New York). I’m now based back home in Australia, currently working out of Lutruwita/Tasmania.

For over two decades, I’ve been immersed in the visual and audio arts, including more than ten years in post-production film, specialising in colour science and grading. Alongside my visual practice, I create and perform music as sanso-xtro.

As an analogue film photographer and explorer of nature, my work is grounded in curiosity, connection, and a love for wild places. My photography focuses on nature and product imagery, particularly within the outdoor industry — capturing the beauty, design, and spirit of adventure.
